It’s always an uncomfortable situation when a news network has to cover itself, and this morning on NBC’s Today show was no exception. After a segment bringing the home viewers up to date on Conan’s rage at the network, the camera cut to Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira, prized hosts of just about the only successful remaining franchise the network hasn’t sabotaged. Never have two people craved a commercial break more.
