Leonard Nimoy Beams Self Out of Workforce

Spock-portraying 79-year-old Leonard Nimoy tells the Toronto Sun he’s retiring from acting and won’t appear in J.J. Abrams’s planned Star Trek sequel (or anything else, for that matter): “I’ve been doing this professionally for 60 years. I love the idea of going out on a positive note. I’ve had a great, great time.†Also, says Nimoy, his returning for ST2 wouldn’t “be fair to Zachary Quinto. He’s a terrific actor, he looks the part, and it’s time to give him some space.†William Shatner could not be reached for comment because he was busy lurking in the bushes outside of Chris Pine’s house.
