Shia LaBeouf, who last appeared in Transformers 2 and will next appear in Wall Street 2, followed by Transformers 3, has finally signed on to make a movie unrelated to a movie that already exists. He’ll star in The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman, which has an absurd-sounding plot (Charlie falls in love with Gabi, a woman affiliated with the mob and must “endure one bruising beat down after another to woo Gabi and keep her out of harm’s way. Finally his exploits of blind valor create such a mess that he’s left with only one way out; to save the girl of his dreams, must Charlie Countryman die?â€), but was on the 2007 Black List, so it’s probably better than it sounds. We can only assume LaBeouf will be onboard for the sequel, The Unnecessary Death of Charlie Countryman 2. [Variety]
