In March, the Harris Polls surveyed 2,320 Americans about their favorite musical acts. (Harris weighted the responses to reflect demographics, which means Baby Boomers got a lot of say, as you will soon see.) Conclusion: Anyone who does not enjoy Celine Dion is out of touch with the mainstream. The French-Canadian who once unleashed “My Heart Will Go On†on all of us remains our favorite singer despite this very fact. Our second favorite act (and first among men) is U2, followed by Elvis and the Beatles in a tie for third, Tim McGraw, Lady Gaga, George Strait, Rascal Flatts, Alan Jackson, and then Frank Sinatra. Conclusion: You are probably out of touch with the mainstream. [Harris Polls, via Awl]
