Thieves in Marseilles stole a Picasso lithograph and four paintings from a collector this week, French officials said today. According to the police, the two crooks managed to get past two security gates and knock on the door of the collector’s home. When he answered, they beat him up and stole his art. This theft comes just a few days after works by Picasso, Matisse, Braque, Modigliani, and Fernand Leger were stolen from Paris’s Museum of Modern Art after thieves outsmarted its security system. Seems like it’s time for Broadview Security to head to France. [AP]
