Punches Were Thrown in the Making of Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Squabble Up’ Video

When Kendrick Lamar hears his music, it makes him dance. Just a little, anyway. The rapper dropped a video for his GNX song “squabble up†in which he gets the tiniest groove on to the instant club-rap hit. But that’s far from all that’s going on in this fantastically chaotic green room. The Calmatic-directed video is an ode to L.A. hip-hop street culture, featuring dancing, bikes, a bouncing car, a massive Nate Dogg CD, and too many rap references to unpack. Lamar once again plays peacemaker as well, featuring some gang members with censored faces and holding a “Jesus Saves Gangsters Too†sign. But yes, punches were thrown in the making of this video. As advertised.
