After yesterday’s surprising news that Guillermo del Toro would no longer be directing The Hobbit, the film’s executive producer and Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson immediately became a top contender to take the reins. But Jackson’s manager, Ken Kamins, shot down those rumors today, telling EW, “As for Peter directing, that’s not something he can consider at this time as he has other commitments to other projects.†Kamins said New Line and Warner Bros. executives will be meeting with Jackson and Fran Walsh this week to find a new director.
