Pixar has reportedly canceled the 3-D film Newt, which was scheduled to be released in the summer of 2011. The project was announced over two years ago, but there has been little news about the film since, which had led some prognosticators to wonder if it might be in trouble, The Pixar Blog says. The film was to follow the last remaining male and female blue-footed newts on the planet who were “forced together by science to save the species … but they can’t stand each other.†So now we will sadly never know what it would be like to see a Katherine Heigl movie in Pixar clothing.
