After rumors that Aaron Sorkin would be snagging the rights to The Politican, Andrew Young’s tell-all about John Edwards, it’s now official. And Sorkin will not only be writing the script, he’ll be making his directorial debut on the project. In a statement that likely caused the Bard to cringe in his grave, Sorkin said: “This is a first hand account of an extraordinary story filled with motivations, decisions and consequences that would have lit Shakespeare up… There is much more to Andrew’s book than what has been reported and I am grateful that he’s trusting me with it.†Considering the book includes a detailed study of Edwards’ hair, one shudders to think what this “much more†could be referring to.
