According to the Post, Christina Aguilera’s Bionic has sold so terribly that her label RCA is panicking and in “rescue mode,†a vague term that seems to imply she could possibly get dropped from the label if there isn’t a miraculous turnaround. Like many artists recently, Aguilera has also canceled her summer tour. The Post notes that her early albums seemed edgy compared to her competitors at the time, Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson, but not next to Lady Gaga and M.I.A. (Really, none of her former competitors are selling music like they used to, or at all in Simpson’s case, either.)
