Martin Scorsese and Terence Winter, the director-writer team behind the upcoming series Boardwalk Empire for HBO, are developing another drama series project for the network. The duo is partnering with Mick Jagger on History of Music, described as a “rock ‘n’ roll epic, which follows two friends through 40 years in the music business.†(Hmmm… perhaps each episode will cover six months of plot?) The idea (which came from Jagger) was originally conceived as a feature - with Scorsese attached to direct for Paramount - but now it’s being positioned as a pilot, which Winter would write and Scorsese would “get first crack at directing.†[Deadline]
