This one just makes sense, doesn’t it? Sacha Baron Cohen has signed up to play Queen singer Freddie Mercury in an upcoming biopic. It doesn’t sound like it’ll be a comedy, however, as it’s being written by Peter Morgan, whose past works include Frost/Nixon, The Queen, The Last King of Scotland and Damned United, none of which are all that funny. Except that scene at the end of The Last King of Scotland with the meat hooks. That was hilarious!
The movie will be “focused on the band’s formative years, leading up to Queen’s appearance at Live Aid in 1985†and not on Mercury’s death in 1991 from complications from AIDS.
