The most cursed movie in Hollywood may finally gets its green light: The L.A. Times reports that the $500 million, two-film production of The Hobbit is only a few days away from getting the go-ahead to shoot in January. As had been widely expected, reluctant series steward Peter Jackson will direct both installments, and he may even resolve his dispute with New Zealand labor unions in time to allow the production to shoot there. We encourage the terribly unlucky cast and crew to avoid lightning storms and falling anvils until the first day on set in January. [Company Town/LAT]
