As Vulture has previously pointed out, IFC is now working to become a one-stop shop for comedy nerds, hoarding reruns of cult favorites like The Larry Sanders Show, Undeclared, and Freaks and Geeks. There’s original programming, too: The out-of-left-field Portlandia — a sketch-comedy show created by and starring Fred Armisen and Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein that gently mocks the titular Pacific Northwest city and its crunchy denizens — is also aiming to bolster IFC’s branding goals. Did that capsule description leave you somewhere between intrigued and befuddled? Here’s a new, short clip featuring scenes from the show (that Pitchfork says will have guest appearances from Kyle MacLachlan, Heather Graham, Jason Sudeikis, Selma Blair, and Aubrey Plaza in its first season) alongside Carrie and Fred gushing about how good of friends they are. Is this enough to make you consider developing a fan/cult-show relationship? [Pitchfork]
