Irrfan Khan may be out of his season-long arc on HBO’s In Treatment, but the veteran actor just keeps picking up roles. After booking a villainous role in the Spider-Man reboot just five days ago, Khan will now board Ang Lee’s 3-D adaptation of the Yann Martel novel Life of Pi. He’ll play the adult version of Pi, a young boy adrift on a lifeboat with a fearsome Bengal tiger. Meanwhile, Gerard Depardieu has been cast in the film as Chef, and Bollywood star Tabu is in negotiations to play Pi’s mother. [Variety]
