The country singer and Country Song star is not kidding around about being an actor: He’s reportedly in the midst of negotiations to join Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds in Daniel Espinosa’s anticipated action thriller Safe House. In the film, Reynolds is the only surviving agent of an attack on a CIA safe house as he tries to get Washington’s character to a second safe house, while violent forces want them both dead! McGraw would play a CIA agent who is a mentor to Reynolds’s character. While that plot might not sound particularly impressive, consider that it was written by a man who previously penned Us magazine’s “Celebrities: They’re Just Like Us!†column. Seriously: David Guggenheim, a former Us editor, worked nights on the story, and the guy’s a new Hollywood hot shot now. So if he can make that jump, then McGraw’s move to full-time acting is certainly possible. [HR]
