Radiohead has just announced that a new full-length album, King of Limbs, their eighth, will be available as of this weekend. Unlike In Rainbows, this isn’t a pay what you want (or nothing) arrangement: A digital copy of the record will be available on Saturday for those who preorder the album, which will actually be released on May 9. Those who preorder — and don’t just copy the tracks from someone who does — can throw down $48 or $53 for what Radiohead is describing as a “Newspaper album,†which will include “many large sheets of artwork,†a CD, two vinyl records, and 625 smaller pieces of artwork, as well as a digital copy. Alternately, buyers can pay a regular amount ($9 or $14) for the digital files and skip having stacks of papers they’ll always feel bad throwing away laying around their house. [Pitchfork]
