After South by Southwest announced their comedy lineup, it was tough to not notice that of 31 of the comedians scheduled, only one was a women. That was kind of shitty! After a bit of a backlash at the conference for being so gender imbalanced, they’ve added three new lady comics to the festivities: Chelsea Peretti, Amy Schumer, and Jena Friedman. Great comics, all!
Whether or not they added three more women because of the backlash or were working on getting them beforehand, it’s great to see them added to the lineup.
