People loved the short-lived comedy Party Down so much that it warranted not one, but two oral histories. The first came out in December from Brand X, and now Details has jumped on board with one that’s much more in depth, with even more insider info on how the show came into being and then stopped being soon after. For example: did you know that initially, the show was headed to HBO with Paul Rudd in the Henry role and Steve Carell in the Ron Donald role? That certainly would have been different.
In any case, there is far, far too much good stuff here for me to try to sum it up, so go kill some time reading it yourself. If you’re a fan of the show, it’s pretty much essential.
