She cannot be stopped! Last night at the Academy of Country Music Awards — held in Las Vegas and co-hosted by Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton — Taylor Swift sat idly by for most of the night, watching (presumed?) rival Miranda Lambert run up to the stage again and again to claim Top Female Vocalist, plus Best Song, Single, and Video of the Year for “The House That Built Me.†But, at the end, it was Swift, once again and forever, who would prove victorious. Seeing Lambert’s impressive victory tally, one might think the loyalist country-music industry (basically every single winner thanked “country radioâ€) was shunning Swift a bit for her pop crossover. It wouldn’t matter with Entertainer of the Year, though, which is voted for by fans. Nominated alongside Swift for the ACM’s top prize were Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and the aforementioned Lambert — and then it was their turn to sit, as Swift ran up, towered over presenter Ryan Seacrest, and whipped out one of her classic genuine-seeming awards-show acceptance speeches: “This is the first time that I’ve ever won this†(meaning the Entertainer of the Year award; she has five other ACMs, and sixteen total nominations) “and I’m just losing my mind.†Watch and respect the domination, above.
