Werner Herzog’s Cave of Forgotten Dreams examines the concept of humanness and marks his first foray into 3-D filmmaking. While the format may be a departure, Herzog says all of his films have one major thing in common: They could all have the same title. “I’m now doing a film with death-row inmates, and as a general umbrella title, I thought about Gazing Into The Abyss, and then I thought that would have been a fine title for the cave film.
