Two people were injured while working on the set of The Hobbit on Tuesday, in Wellington, New Zealand’s Stone Street Studios. The studio, co-owned by Peter Jackson, is in the midst of producing the two-film prequel to Lord of the Rings.
The accident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, local time (Hobbits live in the future), and was reportedly the result of an “industrial explosion.†Both injured parties were hospitalized “as a precaution,†and weren’t seriously hurt, so let the Baggins jokes commence. [NYP]
