After Darren Aronofsky exited his ambitious X-Men sequel The Wolverine, Fox cast a wide net trying to find another auteur director — or at least a high-level action helmer — to replace him on the Hugh Jackman movie. They’ve finally settled on director James Mangold, who made Knight and Day and Walk the Line for the studio. The Expendables sequel got a director yesterday, too: Simon West, best known for his work on Con Air and Tomb Raider. Merry explosions to them both! [Deadline, Deadline]
