The one and only time I’ve been to a Renaissance fair, the combination of being a teen and having to hang out with my father and little brother, coupled with the raw enthusiasm of the participants, sent me into almost seizure-like fits of self-consciousness until I had to go wait in the car. This is sort of how I felt about the Knights of Badassdom trailer until that succubus showed up. Peter Dinklage, Danny Pudi, Steve Zahn, Ryan Kwanten and Summer Glau star as a scrappy gang of LARPers that accidentally summons a demon from Hell (out of what is clearly, on some level, the Necronomicon), which they then must battle with their sweet home-made armor and awesome self-designed trebuchets. The battle scenes look a little bit Army of Darkness, with shades of Role Models, and just about the last place you would ever, ever want to do shrooms.
