Flush with the success of Bridesmaids, director Paul Feig has been teasing his next project, claiming to Moviehole that it’s “a sequel to a movie that people know, but I can’t really talk about it yet.†British columnist Baz Bamingoye, however, has let the cat out of the bag: Feig is in early talks to helm the third Bridget Jones movie. Bamingoye cautioned that no actors deals are yet set for the film, which would follow Bridget on a path to pregnancy. But when you start transposing the Bridesmaids characters over Bridget Jones — both feature a hapless heroine, sexed up by an asshole, who deals with “smug marrieds†while slowly falling for the patient nice guy — it does make a certain amount of sense.
