Before production even finishes on the first movie adaptation of The Hunger Games, Lionsgate announced today that Catching Fire, its sequel, will be released on November 22, 2013. It’s just one of a slew of release dates that were revealed today, though at least we know what to expect from Catching Fire — meanwhile, Pixar announced a May 30, 2014 date for a yet-unnamed new project, while Marvel planted flags on May 16, 2014 and June 27, 2014 for two other mystery films. Expect one of those to be a Captain America sequel; as for the other, who knows, though it’s an awfully aggressive move for Marvel to potentially program two of its own superheroes within almost five weeks of each other. Then again, the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man is already set to come out on May 2 of that year, meaning 2014 might be a reprise of the already superhero-saturated 2011.
