In the track “It’s Good†on his new album Tha Carter IV, Lil Wayne continues a not-so-veiled dis war with Jay-Z. Turns out, Wayne’s actions speak even louder than his words: Carter IV is projected to sell anywhere from 700,000 to 850,000 albums this week, far surpassing the recent debut of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s highly hyped Watch the Throne, which scrounged up 436,000 copies in its first week. Making that an even more impressive feat is that Carter IV leaked, while Watch the Throne didn’t. When it comes to first-week numbers for the year, then, Wayne places second only to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, and he didn’t even have to sell his album for 99 cents on Amazon to do it.
