Vulture hears that The Daily Show correspondent Larry Wilmore has just been cast in ABC’s Happy Endings in what may become a recurring role. Wilmore is set to play the boss to Damon Wayans Jr.’s Brad in an episode slated to run early this season. For now, he is only booked for one episode, but our sources say the part could end up being expanded. Wilmore made his career as a writer (The Bernie Mac Show, The Office, and The PJs), but the former stand-up has become a recognizable onscreen face through his position as The Daily Show’s “Senior Black Correspondent†and his multiple sitcom cameos (The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Accidentally on Purpose).
