Few people would be able to say no to both Steve Jobs and Pixar, but Aaron Sorkin proved to be a notable holdout. In a new article for Newsweek, the Oscar-winning writer of The Social Network recalls the last phone call he ever got from Jobs, who asked Sorkin if he would write a movie for Pixar. Unfortunately, Sorkin demurred. “I just — I don’t think I can make inanimate objects talk,†he told Jobs. “The truth is I don’t know how to tell those stories. I have a young kid who loves Pixar movies and she’ll turn cartwheels if I tell her I’m writing one and I don’t want to disappoint her by writing the only bad movie in the history of Pixar.†But now that we’ve been through Cars 2, surely he’ll reconsider, right?
