Bad news for terrorists, but good news for lovers of absurdist comedy: Adult Swim has just ordered a second season of NTSF: SD: SUV The procedural parody, which was created by and stars Vulture friend Paul Scheer, has delivered double-digit ratings gains to the network and in September averaged nearly 800,000 adults 18-49 in its 12:15 a.m. Thursday time slot (more than some big-time network late-night shows). Scheer was predictably upbeat about the renewal, issuing a statement saying he was anxious “to continue to punch, shoot, stab, and run people over with lawnmowers and get paid for it.†It’s a pretty big night for Scheer: NTSF has its Season 1 finale tonight, while his FX comedy The League begins its new season. The sophomore season of NTSF will start production early next year and debut sometime in 2012.
