It’s hard to believe it’s been almost fifteen years since any new heh-hehs and declarations about Cornholio graced MTV’s airwaves, but it’s true. And come October 27 at 10 p.m., ready or not, Beavis and Butt-head are back. Much as Talk Soup swapped daytime-talk clips for reality sludge to transform into The Soup, so too has this nineties staple shifted its focus: The revived Beavis and Butt-head rags on Jersey Shore, 16 and Pregnant and MTV reality staples instead of the music-video riffing that helped make the show a classic. And yet based on this trailer (which airs on actual television tonight during Jersey Shore), it still seems to be the same old Beavis and Butt-head, revolting and delightful all at once. How many shows could possibly combine the grotesquerie of orally transmitted hepatitis and a Free to Be You and Me quote?
