Paul Feig won’t be directing the third Bridget Jones movie, which means Universal is on the lookout for someone else with a gentle style who’s able to make moments of pathos really touching and lovely, and able to coax silliness from seemingly sad situations. The movie, according to Colin Firth, will follow Bridget as she runs back to Daniel (don’t do it, Bridge!), gets pregnant, and then has to get rescued yet again by Mr. Darcy. Given Feig’s work on Bridesmaids and The Office, his involvement here made the movie sound almost a little bit promising. Oh, well. [Deadline]
