While that would be an excellent premise for a sitcom, according to Deadline, the Jim Gaffigan sitcom headed to NBC is instead a semi-autobiographical depiction of Gaffigan as “a lazy man, married to a strong woman, raising 4 children in a 2 bedroom apartment in New York City.†Truth in comedy, comedy in truth, people! Plus, you know that motherfucker is going to eat some Hot Pockets in the pilot episode. In addition to starring, Gaffigan will write the single-camera comedy, which seems like such a natural fit for his voice that I find it hard to believe it’s taken this long to happen.
