Thomas Matthews, middle son of the longtime MSNBC anchor, will play a junior producer on the as-yet-untitled HBO series set in a newsroom. The elder Matthews says he’s amused by the coincidence (“It’s funny because all his life he’s ignored what I do … But when he got the part of one of the young producers, he called me up and wanted to know all about what they doâ€), but we kind of feel for the guy, since his own cameo on the show was nixed by network honchos. The Matthews men just want to walk quickly and act! Let them act. While we’re at it, one special note to Thomas: stay away from the mirrors on that set. We hear they are vicious. [Forbes]
