Cinematic weddings have been unpredictable this past year: Whether it’s Taylor Lautner or Wilson Phillips, you never know who’s going to show up. In The Five-Year Engagement, though, you don’t know whether the wedding is going to happen at all, since newly engaged Jason Segel and Emily Blunt have to keep delaying the nuptials to focus on real-world concerns (mostly, the demands of her job). This puts a certain amount of stress on their relationship, and it also gets their family members chattering, namely Blunt’s mom, played by Jacki Weaver (and thank goodness Weaver isn’t playing Segel’s mother, because Emily, you do not want to marry into a clan of brothers headed up by the terrifiying matriarch from Animal Kingdom) and Blunt’s sister, played by … well, we don’t want to spoil it, but we have to admit that we gasped a little late after realizing who was under that British accent.
