Helen Mirren will be providing the “inner voice†for a character on the upcoming Grease episode of Glee, TV Line reports, raising today’s WTF levels to near-dangerous highs. Mirren apparently recorded several monologues for the episode, although it’s hard to imagine a character on Glee needing an inner voice for storytelling purposes — are there really thoughts that go unsaid, unsung, or unwept on this show? Even harder to imagine than narrative subtlety, though, is how Glee could possibly weave together a Nene Leakes guest spot as a synchronized swimming coach, an elaborate Rydell High homage, and Will and Emma’s engagement into one coherent, cohesive story.
