Like soccer and Big Brother, singer Kylie Minogue has had some success in this country, but mega-super-crazy success everywhere else. Despite failing to conquer America as deftly as she has the rest of the planet, Minogue does have her fans in the U.S., namely Madonna, who’s praised Minogue in the press and worn Kylie T-shirts on tour. Now the two icons are finally going to collaborate for a special on Britain’s ITV honoring Minogue’s 25 years of international pop domination, and naturally, for the rest of the world, this is a big deal. After Minogue’s many years of (almost total) international pop stardom, perhaps Americans, beyond Madonna and hundreds of our nation’s drag queens, should see this as a big deal, too.
