Emma Watson has so far played it safe with her film roles outside of the Harry Potter franchise: She had a small part in the big ensemble of My Week With Marilyn, and though she has a bigger supporting role in the upcoming The Perks of Being a Wallflower, it’s still Logan Lerman’s movie. Now, though, it seems that Watson is ready for her close-up, as Deadline reports that she’s in discussions with her Harry Potter director David Yates to star in Your Voice in My Head, based on the memoir by Emma Forrest. If Watson signs, she’ll play a young, suicidal Brit living the fast life in Manhattan until she links up with a psychiatrist dying of cancer. Yates is expected to shoot the film soon in New York, in which case Watson will have even more familiar faces nearby, as her Harry Potter costar Daniel Radcliffe will soon start production on his Allen Ginsberg movie Kill Your Darlings there.
