If Brett Ratner had been a little bit more circumspect during his Tower Heist press tour, last year’s Oscars might have looked very different, since Ratner had originally set Eddie Murphy to host them. That said, Murphy tells Extra that fill-in host Billy Crystal did a “great job,†though he admits, “It would be a little quicker with me driving.†If that sounds like Murphy is leaving the door open for a future hosting stint … he is! “If they ask me again and it comes around, I’m totally open to do,†Murphy says. “It’s one of the few things that I haven’t done as a comedian. So, yeah, one day.†But probably not, right?
