“Just when you know what the trends are, Paris comes along and puts a new spin on things,” says Roopal Patel, fashion director of Moda Operandi — looks like Balenciaga’s metallic animal-print sweatshirts, for example, and McQueen’s “magical” fur and feathers. It was a week of smart, wearable separates (the slim pantsuit was huge) and the return of the heel, in two-tone hues and metallics.
