This seems like one of those bittersweet, somewhat twee, somewhat mumblecore, romantic comedies that tend to be really polarizing (I imagine that sentence alone turned off at least 30% of you). It’s written and directed by the exceedingly talented Lynn Shelton, whose last film, Humpday, was very much in this same vein (though it’s about two straight best friends deciding to make a gay porno together, which is a whole other can of worms). It gets a limited release on June 15th and goes wide after that. Some experts are predicting it competing with The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises for biggest box office of the summer. Ok, no experts are saying that (…yet?) but it does look pretty great though, right?
