Newark taxpayers are on the hook for $187,000 of expenditures related to Whitney Houston’s funeral in her hometown on February 18. The price tag is a result of the extra police manpower needed to manage crowds during the funeral proceedings. Many are angered that the public is now having to pay for a ceremony that was closed to them and only open to select invitees.
