Though Vulture campaigned desperately — or, at least, made a cheesy knockoff poster — in support of Taylor Swift as Eponine in Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables, that part fell through. But Taylor Swift does not give up; Taylor Swift does not let go of her dreams (until she gets dumped, and even then, she sings songs about the relationships for years after the fact). So she is now in talks for a new acting gig, the part of Joni Mitchell in Sony’s adaptation of Girls Like Us, Sheila Weller’s book about the careers of Mitchell, Carly Simon, and Carole King. The project is still in development, but Swift has been attached to the role “for several monthsâ€; meanwhile, actresses are still auditioning for the parts of Simon and King. Okay, enough talking: Is everyone freaking out? We at Vulture are freaking out! Taylor singing “A Case of You†is almost too much for the mind to handle, and they haven’t even cast the other two parts yet. If Lana Del Rey or Miley Cyrus wander into this movie somehow, we are going to lose our damn minds.Â
