Matthew Modine is joining the cast of Jobs as John Sculley, the Apple CEO who was recruited by Steve Jobs, only to fire the founder two years later. Modine sees Sculley as a man who gave Jobs an opportunity, not a Silicon Valley Benedict Arnold. “It’s my feeling — and I think there’s a lot of people who feel — that had John Sculley not fired Steve Jobs from Apple Computers and [let] Steve go on the journey that he did when he was away from Apple Computers, that we wouldn’t be speaking about Steve Jobs today,†the actor said. Modine seems like a pretty good pick for the Ashton Kutcher film, but if you aren’t happy you’ll get another Sculley in the other Aaron Sorkin–penned Jobs biopic.
