Among the many lessons in Monsters, Inc. — laughter is more powerful than screaming; doors are a surprisingly efficient mode of transportation — we, the human audience, learned that Monsters are not in fact Monsters, but creatures with conscience and even the ability to love. They also have day jobs. And to land a day job in Monster World, it turns out, it helps to have gone to college. Cue Monsters University, the upcoming prequel to Pixar’s fourth feature film, which finds Mike and Scully raging hard in the name of higher monster education — think final exam stress dreams, raucous hall parties filled with multicolored beasts, disco ball glue pranks, and Spandau Ballet.
