And so it begins: CBS has made the first network pilot commitment for TV’s 2013-14 season, ordering the half-hour comedy Ex-Men. The project, from writer Rob Greenberg (Frasier) and producers Eric and Kim Tannenbum, focuses on a young dude who makes new friends with the older, more experienced gents living in his short-term apartment complex. What’s unusual about the project — other than the fact that CBS snatched it up so early during TV’s so-called development season — is that the show will be shot single-camera style, without the studio audience of which CBS is so fond. No word yet on casting for the potential show.
