With the holy month of Ramadan fully underway, millions of Muslims throughout the Middle East have a lot of free time on their hands. To capitalize on this huge audience — which apparently generates as much ad revenue as the rest of the year combined — Sony TV will launch five new shows, according to the Financial Times, including a sitcom adapted from Everybody Loves Raymond, an Arabic-language version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, and a female chat show. Also on the docket for later in the year: an Arabic-language version of The Voice.
