On Saturday, MoMA PS1 inaugurated its annual series of Warm Up dance parties in Queens. Record temperatures did not deter revelers from enjoying D.J. sets by the likes of Todd Terry, Light Asylum, and Nguzunguzu. Each year, the museum awards a young architect or firm the chance to create an installation that provides the event with shade, seating, and hydration. This summer’s winner, called Wendy and created by the HWKN, was a beautiful blue origami-like structure made of nylon, which emitted cool blasts of air and mist. We sent photographer Thomas Prior to capture some of the partygoers. Click through our slideshow for purple flattops, intricately patterned jumpsuits, hot pink kaftans, and more. And if you find yourself in New York City between now and September 8, drop by MoMA PS1 to see it all in person.

"I usually sacrifice a certain amount of style for comfort when it's this hot. I wouldn't say I'm really feeling particularly stylish today, but I can't just leave the house wearing, like, track pants or something. That would be unaccceptable."

"This is actually a rarity that I'm wearing color. Normally I'm black from head to toe. But it's this dress, you know, it's water, light, I like that it plays off Wendy. The designer is Maria Cornejo ... I pretty much live in her stuff in the summertime."

Paul: "I stick to skinny jeans and maybe some colors, in certain places. You know, you can't have that everywhere. And, you know, just some crazy stuff no one else wears ... It's never about dressing up for someone or something, it's about dressing up for yourself and doing that all the time."
Hunter: "I kind of dress like a little kid."
