The reinvention of Shia LaBeouf continues, but in the new Robert Redford–directed drama The Company You Keep, LaBeouf leads not with his bushy beard or wang, instead letting his dogged journalistic drive and unflattering spectacles dominate the proceedings. You see, Susan Sarandon was recently arrested for decades-old Weather Underground crimes, and LaBeouf has a hunch that there may be one other former revolutionary who slipped from view; soon enough, he’s closing in on Redford, who took on a new life under an assumed name after a Weather Underground bank robbery gone wrong in the seventies. Standing in the way of the two men? A giant cast of talented supporting actors, including Anna Kendrick, Nick Nolte, Julie Christie, Terrence Howard, and Stanley Tucci.
