In Safety Not Guaranteed, Aubrey Plaza is a magazine intern helping a jaded reporter (Jake Johnson) find the writer of a mysterious ad soliciting a companion for time travel. Vulture called the movie, which debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, “deceptively heartfelt.†Here’s an exclusive sneak peek at a DVD extra in which director Colin Trevorrow explains why he cast Plaza and Johnson. Anyone who enjoys a good quirky romance, or who has ever written fan fiction about Parks and Recreation’s April meeting New Girl’s Nick, should be pleased. The DVD hits shelves October 30.
